Christchurch
Man for Mayor
Candidate for
council Fendalton/Waimairi ward. |
Stop AMI Stadium funding
from Christchurch rates
and electricity line charges.Labour seat voter, against the Iraq War therefore voted Green Party for
last Parliament. 47 years old and born in Christchurch. In 1998 I
stood for Council and Mayor, Gary Moore won and also contested Winston
Peters and Tariana
Turia, Maori Party co-leader for a seat in Parliament. Worked as an
airline jet pilot in Singapore. We must protect water and food growing
areas from pollution. I’m disgusted at the yearly increases of
electricity, rates, and the impact of proposed carbon taxes on our
living costs. Stop Ami Stadium funding. Christchurch is becoming too
expensive to live in, hence the crime. Reduce traffic by making bus
exchanges part of malls so it is safe and dry to access the services
provided. Retain assets to give long term benefits. People’s great
ideas and questions need to be heard. |

Fuel reserves are decreasing annually as demand increases beyond
additional new supplies. The cost of owning land for producing food,
transport and harvesting will rise significantly in the future. Council
needs to consider long-term sustainability of land particularly for
growing food and prevention from future development, as cheap imported
food may no longer be available to purchase locally. Planning to
protect food growing areas from development is to ensure good soils are
protected to feed all residents. I object to money from Council
supporting companies that are not 100% owned by the Council e.g.
Canterbury Plains Water. Spending money on AMI Stadium, City Mall and
other big items before we have a sustainable city is not prioritising
our life essentials. I feel our elected representatives must place
immediate value on our grandchildren and the needs of future
generations, hence my dedication to job of Mayor or Councillor and
Health Board. |

District Health board
As Mayor or a member of Council I would not fund boy racers. More
accountable information required on the internet so all New Zealand
District Health Boards, Councils, and Government agencies display
complaints, costs, problems, waiting lists and proposed solutions that
can be seen publicly in order to improve services. The costs of all
administration needs to be reduced dramatically in order to focus
expenditure on solutions. Whistle blowers, public, staff and Government
require to see this information, in order to understand what action is
needed. Health questionnaires would allow people who are interested in
answering on-line questions improve their knowledge. Doctors would
become more informed so more targeted treatments to cure the problems
could be used. Information normally given to doctors often during short
visits may be insufficient. I value myself and others seeking mutual
respect. Disappointed and disillusioned Labour seat and Green Party
voter for Parliament. |
